Jake Wiberg’s RBI single scored Roger Davis with the game-winning run in the bottom of the seventh inning to give Stratham a 5-4 victory over St. Thomas #1 in an NEIBL junior varsity game played Wednesday night at Exeter High School.
Wiberg’s hit capped a four-run seventh inning that included three walks and singles by Davis and Boden Driscoll. T. J. Enright scored the game-tying run on a throwing error. Kaleb Cecchetti and Jason Yeaton also scored in the seventh.
Driscoll earned the win for pitching three scoreless innings of relief. The only baserunner he allowed came on a walk.
Matt Minckler had a hit and scored twice for St. Thomas (13-2). Elliot Miles collected two hits and scored a run, and J.J. Crespo doubled and scored the other St. Thomas run.
David Kohl reached on an error and scored Stratham’s first run in the fifth. The victory raised Stratham’s record to 12-5.
