Fisher Cats 3, Curve 1

MANCHESTER – The New Hampshire Fisher Cats, the Double-A affiliate of the Toronto Blue Jays, used four pitchers to keep the Altoona Curve in check in a 3-1 victory Thursday night at Delta Dental Stadium.

John Aiello reached base four times and scored two of the three Fisher Cats runs. Aiello singled in the first and scored on a Spencer Horwitz double to tie the game 1-1. Aiello also singled in the third and drew a pair of walks, scoring again on a Will Robertson double in the eighth to extend the lead to 3-1.

Adam Kloffenstein, the Blue Jays No. 11 prospect, allowed just one run on three hits in 4.2 innings. Matt Frazier’s leadoff home run was Altoona’s only tally. New Hampshire struck out 13 batters in the game.

Braden Scott (2-2) picked up the win with 1.2 innings of scoreless relief, striking out four batters. Parker Caracci and Jimmy Burnette finished out the game. Burnette earned his first save, striking out four batters in two scoreless frames.

Altoona starter Carmen Mlodzinski (0-4) allowed two runs in five innings, taking the loss. He walked four batters, including a bases-loaded walk to Orelvis Martinez in the third to give New Hampshire a 2-1 lead.
