Coaches comment: “The 2024 Bobcats return a number of starters from last years runner-up team. Johnny Flaherty and Logan Finkle, who anchored the rotation last season, return. They carried the vast majority of the pitching load last season, but we hope to build better depth in our pitching rotation this year. Noah Shaw (Jr.) has been improving on the mound throughout preseason and look strong. Luke Diamond, Luke Bassingthwaite (Sr.) and Turner Oldenburg (Soph.) have all looked strong and will also see considerable time on the mound this season. Offensively, Luke Diamond, Owen Cahoon, Tyler Dekutoski and Thomas Daigneault all had strong seasons at the plate last season and we expect to see those individuals lead us this year.
Defensively, Jake Sanborn (Jr.) returns at first base, Thomas Daigneault (Jr,)
CF, Trevin Stone (Sr.) RF, all return as starters along with Diamond (SS), Cahoon (LF/3B), and Flaherty (3B). Kyle Dodge (Jr) has looked very strong at second base trying to replace Noah Dutile, who was outstanding for Plymouth last season. Cam Stratton, who graduated, may have been the most important player on last year’s team as he was extremely strong behind the dish. We will have trouble replacing him. Shaw and Jaxon Rineer (Jr.) have been battling for that spot in preseason. … Plymouth had a magical season last season. After a tough ending stretch to the regular season finishing at 9-7 they made it all the way to the championship before falling to an extremely talented Hollis-Brookline team. That energy seems to have carried over to this season and the boys are working hard despite the 28 inches of snow we received March 23. Division II figures to be very deep this year. Saint Thomas, Souhegan and Kingswood have a lot of talent coming back. Hollis-Brookline lost some key players, but they just reload every year. I expect John Stark and Milford among others to be in the mix for the top spots.”
