NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Junior Andrew Chenevert and freshman Finn Ramseyer combined to throw a sevin-inning no-hitter in the second game of a Northeast 10 Conference doubleheader as the Saint Anselm College baseball team secured a sweep of Southern Connecticut State University with a 9-0 victory at SCSU on Friday afternoon.
It’s the first no-hitter for Saint Anselm since May 8, 2005 when Ryan Fecteau shut out American International College in a nine-inning outing, allowing two baserunners while striking out 11 Yellow Jackets in a 1-0 victory.
Chenevert, a junior, improved to 5-0. He struck out five over six innings of scoreless work, allowed two baserunners on two walks and walked two.
Ramseyer, a freshman, closed the game with a 1-2-3 seventh inning to secure the combined no-hitter.
