SeaWolves 6, Fisher Cats 3

ERIE, Pa. – The New Hampshire Fisher Cats (20-31, 54-64) ended their six-game series with a 6-3 loss on Sunday against the Erie SeaWolves (35-16, 71-48) at UPMC Park. Despite the loss, first baseman Dub Gleed launched his 10th home run of the season and right fielder Alexis Hernandez extended his hit streak to nine with a sixth-inning single.
Toronto’s No. 2 prospect Nolan Perry (L, 0-1) allowed three runs on four hits in 3-2/3 innings. The right-hander walked three batters and recorded one strikeout in his second start of the series. Lefty Mason Olson struck out four in 3-1/3 scoreless innings and Yondrei Rojas was tagged for three runs in the eighth inning.
Erie starter Joe Miller did not allow a run in 3-2/3 innings. Reliever Coli Fields (W, 2-0) followed with 1-1/3 innings of scoreless baseball. Johan Simon, Dariel Fregio, and Wandisson Charles fired the final four frames as the Cats offense failed to overcome the early deficit.

Erie scored their first run off of New Hampshire’s Perry in the second inning on solo home run from third baseman Izzac Pacheco (17). Perry followed with a scoreless second, but the SeaWolves scored again in the third on a sacrifice fly by catcher Thayron Liranzo.
The SeaWolves added to their lead in the fourth on a solo home run from Clayton Campbell (1) which made it 3-0.
New Hampshire answered with a pair of runs in the sixth. Following an Erie pitching change, Gleed (10) mashed a solo homer. Hernandez singled and quickly advanced to second on a groundout. Hernandez soon after scored on passed ball in which nobody on the SeaWolves covered home plate, 3-2.
Erie blew the game open in the bottom of the eighth inning with three runs, which included a two-run single from shortstop Woody Hadeen. New Hampshire scratched across a run in the ninth on a sacrifice fly from Cutter Coffey, but the SeaWolves’ Charles slammed the door and secured a 6-3 win.
