Holy Cross freshman Ben Malgeri has been named the Patriot League Rookie of the Week, the conference announced on Tuesday.
In a three-game series against Alabama-Birmingham, Malgeri had six hits in nine at-bats, including two doubles. He contributed an RBI and two stolen bases while slugging .889 and reaching base at a .667 percentage.
Malgeri, a Stratham resident, leads the Crusaders with a .391 average through seven games this season.
