Alvirne rallies for victory

Alvirne scored five runs in the bottom of the seventh inning to rally for a 14-13 victory over Pinkerton Academy on Monday in the Division I opener for each team.
Alvirne’s five-run seventh came after Pinkerton scored seven runs in the top half of the inning to take a 13-9 lead. The Broncos collected 11 hits in the game, including two triples by Ryan Santos.
Freshman Jake Dufour had four hits for Alvirne, which received a double and two singles from Evan Beals.
Frank Gulezian had three of Pinkerton’s 10 hits. Kameron Levesque added two hits, and Jacob McGill finished the game with four RBIs.
