Ten-run inning propels Pinkerton

Pinkerton Academy scored 10 runs in the second inning en route to a 13-0 victory over Merrimack in Derry on Saturday. The game became official after the top of the fifth because of the NHIAA 10-run rule.

Richie Marique earned the win on the mound. He went all five innings, surrendered five hits, didn’t walk a batter and struck out 10. He also drove in three runs.

Frank Gulezian, Jacob McGill and Kam Levesque each had two hits, two RBIs and scored twice for the Astros (1-1). The loss dropped Merrimack to 0-3.
