TRENTON, NJ – The New Hampshire Fisher Cats (Blue Jays) were blanked 4-0 by the Trenton Thunder (Yankees) Wednesday afternoon at ARM & HAMMER Park.
The Thunder took an early lead with a run in the bottom of the third. Angel Aguilar doubled, went to third on a ground out and scored on a wild pitch to make it 1-0.
Trenton doubled its lead in the fourth after consecutive singles put runners on the corners then a wild pitch brought home the second run of the game.
Four Thunder hits plated a run in the sixth, and an unearned run scored on an error in the bottom of the seventh to make it 4-0 Yankees affiliate.
Justin Dillon (L, 5-3), Brad Wilson, Vinny Nittoli and Jake Fishman took the hill for New Hampshire. Fishman was the only hurler to not allow a run.
New Hampshire was held to four hits. Vinny Capra doubled and singled, Riley Adams recorded a single and Chad Spanberger singled in the ninth.
The Fisher Cats return home Thursday night to start the final homestand of 2019. They’ll take on the Binghamton Rumble Ponies (Mets) for four games before the Thunder visit the Granite state for the last four home contests this season. RHP Hector Perez (7-5, 4.70 ERA) gets the ball for the Fisher Cats and RHP Tony DiBrell (0-6, 9.73 ERA) will go for the Rumble Ponies in game one.
