MANCHESTER – The Saint Anselm College department of athletics announced on Wednesday that Nick Cenatiempo will step down from his position as head baseball coach after two seasons on the Hilltop.
Cenatiempo, who was named to the position in June 2017, had previously served as assistant coach at Saint Anselm from 2011-2015.
“We appreciate the amount of time Nick invested into Hawks baseball during these past two years,” Saint Anselm athletic director Daron Montgomer said. “Nick’s hard work and dedication were evident to his coaching colleagues and our staff, but we respect his decision to accept another career opportunity and wish him the best moving forward.”
Cenatiempo’s resignation is effective Sept. 6. Assistant Coach Justin Sumner will oversee day-to-day coaching responsibilities until a permanent head coach is named.
“Words cannot express my gratitude toward the Saint Anselm administration for giving me the opportunity to come back home,” Cenatiempo said. “This institution is second to none, and I wish its baseball program success moving forward.”
