Team Purple opens with win

Concord High School’s Jonah Wachter and Pinkerton Academy’s Derek Hiscox each struck out four batters in two hitless inning to help New Hampshire Team Purple defeat North Shore Blue 4-0 on Saturday during the Showcase League’s opening weekend.
Dover’s Alex Noel (2 IP, 3 Ks, 1 BB, 2 hits), Pinkerton’s Mike Packowski (2 IP 2 Ks, 2 BBs, 1H) and Londonderry’s Owen MacDonnell (1 IP, 2 Ks, 1 BB) also pitched for Team Purple.
Exeter’s Brady Green led the offense by going 2 for 5 (single, double) with a run scored. Pinketon’s Ethan Burgess (two walks), Central Catholic’s Mike Kelly (1 for 4) and Pinkerton’s Kam Levesque (1 for 3, walk) also scored for Team Purple. Kelly drove in two. Levesque and Noel each had an RBI.
