MaxPreps picks Portsmouth

MaxPreps released its top high school team in each state earlier this week and Portsmouth came in No. 1 in New Hampshire. Here’s what MaxPreps had to say about the Clippers, who moved from Division II to Division I last season:

The No. 10 seed in last year’s Division 1 tournament, Portsmouth reached the semifinals before falling to Bedford. Once the holder of the nation’s longest win streak with 89 in a row, Portsmouth has one of the state’s top seniors in outfielder Calvin Hewett and the top junior, according to Perfect Game, in pitcher Ryan Minckler.
