Monday Recap: Stratham, Nashua prevail

Winnacunnet High School’s Dom Stocker and Portsmouth’s High School’s Jason Yeaton each tossed two scoreless innings to help the Stratham JV team open the New England Independent Baseball League (NEIBL) season with a 7-0 road victory against Weare on Monday night.

Stratham scored two runs in the fourth inning and five in the fifth. The game was called after five innings because of darkness.

Exeter High School’s Tyler Leedberg scored twice for Stratham. Frank Krupp (Portsmouth), Duncan Cullinane (Portsmouth), Jake Wiberg (Exeter), David Kohl (Winnacunnet) and Bradley Richards (Exeter) scored Stratham’s other runs. Portsmouth’s Boden Driscoll tossed a scoreless fifth.

Weare’s Jayden Lamothe pitched three scoreless innings before the game was delayed 15 minutes by rain.

NEIBL 
Junior Varsity

Isiah Hedquest pitched four scoreless innings to help the Nashua JVs defeat Londonderry 10-0. Hedquist surrendered one hit, struck out six and walked one. Colin Holbrook and Luke Anderson also pitched for Nashua in its shutout victory.

Ryan Bougois, Dominico Monico and Nate Smith each had RBI singles for Nashua in a three-run fifth inning.
