Carrico silences Salem bats

Trevor DeMinico and Jake Champagne each collected two hits, but Salem dropped a 7-1 decision to Oyster River in NEIBL varsity action Friday night.

Oyster Rver led 3-0 after two innings and 6-0 after five. DeMinico scored Salem’s only run.

Myles Carrico pitched a complete game for Oyster River. He alowed one run, walked three and struck out five. He also drove in two runs and scored twice.

Keene 9, Merrimack 3

Merrimack made seven errors that led to eight unearned runs in a game played at Souhegan High School.

Cal Sault, Noah Timmer, Logan Thatcher and Hunter Paquette each had two hits for Keene. Thatcher and Casey Jordan both drove in two.

Timmer pitched six innings to get the win. He allowed three runs (none earned) on four hits, struck out eight and walked three. Carl Hoden pitched a scoreless seventh.

Merrimack’s Dylan Brander surrendered six runs (one earned) in five innings and struck out three. Brander and Ryan Williams each had two hits in the loss.
