Salem scored two runs in each of the first three innings en route to a 7-4 triumph over Merrimack in an NEIBL varsity game played Friday night.
Jake Lennerton got the start and pitched four scoreless innings for Salem (7-5). He allowed three hits and struck out two.
Jacob Albert led the offense with three hits, two RBIs and two runs scored. Jake Champagne and Keegan Parke also had two hits for Salem. Donovan Kelley drove in two.
Keaton Miller had two hits and pitched two scoreless innings of relief for Merrimack. Ryan Somers had an RBI double in the loss, and Evan Roy, Aidan Ponder and Ryan Ivestor collected Merrimack’s other hits. The loss dropped Merrimack to 4-12-1.
