Allen pitching in for Team USA

Winnacunnet High School senior Joe Allen started the game on the mound and pitched three scoreless innings for the Team USA U18 National team in Game 3 of its Friendship Series with Canada on Sunday night at Ed Smith Stadium in Sarasota, Fla.
Allen, a Hampton Falls resident who has committed to Michigan, struck out five, allowed one hit (a double) and walked one.

Team USA won the game 6-2 to take a 3-0 lead in the series. The remainder of the series will be played in St. Petersburg, Fla. and Bradenton, Fla.
