MANCHESTER – Luis Quinones and Andrew Bash combined on a four-hitter, and Will Robertson drove in three runs as the New Hampshire Fisher Cats (Blue Jays Double-A affiliate) snapped a seven-game losing streak with a 5-1 win over the Somerset Patriots (Yankees affiliate) on Father’s Day at Delta Dental Stadium.
Quinones went four scoreless innings for the second time in the series and struck out six batters. Bash (3-3) earned the win with five innings of relief, allowing just one unearned runs on two hits. He walked one and struck out three.
The Fisher Cats (28-35) scored twice in the bottom of the first inning. John Aiello reached on a hit-by-pitch and Spencer Horwitz walked. After a groundout by Orelvis Martinez advanced the runners, Robertson singled home both runners for a 2-0 lead.
Robertson delivered another run in the bottom of the third inning. Rafael Lantigua doubled into the right field corner. Horwitz and Martinez followed with walks to load the bases. Robertson grounded into a fielders choice, but Lantigua scored to put the Fisher Cats up 3-0.
New Hampshire’s final two runs came across in the bottom of the eighth inning on a Cam Eden two-run single. Somerset (41-22) scored its run in the top of the fifth inning on an errant pickoff attempt.
Will Warren (2-2) was tagged with the loss for the Patriots, who maintained a one-game lead in the Eastern League’s Northeast Division over Hartford.
