HARTFORD, Conn. — Bedford’s Grant Lavigne homered off of Yankees right-hander Luis Severino in the Hartford Yard Goats’ 6-2 loss to the Somerset Patriots on Wednesday in Game 1 of an Eastern League doubleheader.
Severino was on an MLB rehab assignment and pitched four innings. The only runs he allowed came on Lavigne’s two-run home run in the bottom of the first inning.
It was Lavigne’s fifth home run in 49 games with Hartford (175 at-bats). He’s hitting .229 with 19 RBIs, a .333 on-base percentage and a .354 slugging percentage.
