Doyle earns tourney victory

Freshman Liam Doyle pitched six strong innings to help Coastal Carolina defeat Georgia State 5-4 in the second round of the Sun Belt Conference championship tournament on Wednesday night.
Doyle, a Derry resident who helped Pinkerton Academy win the NHIAA Division I championship last season, improved his record to 3-0 by holding Georgia State to one run on three hits. He walked three and struck out seven.
The victory extended Coastal Carolina’s winning streak to eight games.
