Exeter Post 32 downs Portsmouth

PORTSMOUTH — George Young tossed five scoreless innings to help the Exeter Post 32 American Legion Senior team defeat Portsmouth 7-3 Friday night at Leary Field.

Young limited Portsmouth to three hits, struck out eight and walked one.

Nate Gallant had two hits, two RBIs and scored twice for Post 32, which also received two hits from Cam Snee. Young, Gavin Duquette and Ryan Morgado had Exeter’s other hits.

Exeter (3-3 District B) scored a run in the first, two in the fourth and four in the seventh. Portsmouth (5-1 District B) did all of its scoring in the bottom of the seventh.

Duncan Cullinane collected two of Portsmouth’s six hits.
