MANSFIELD, Mass. — New Haven, the reigning Northeast-10 Conference champion, and perennial power Southern New Hampshire enter the 2025 season as preseason favorites, according to the NE10 Baseball Coaches’ Polls announced on Monday afternoon.
New Haven received 47 points and seven first-place votes to top all teams in the Southwest Division, edging out Pace, which finished second with 43 points and four first-place votes. The Chargers earned the top spot in the poll for the first time since the 2019 season and it comes off a season where they won their first NE10 Championship since 2017. New Haven finished with a 31-24 record and a 16-11 mark in conference play.
Adelphi and Southern Connecticut tied for third place in the Southwest Division with 28 points each, while American International was fifth with 14 points.
Southern New Hampshire received 60 points and 10 first-place votes to lead the Northeast Division. It is the eighth time in nine years that SNHU has been picked first by NE10 head coaches. The Penmen have won four-straight NCAA Division II East Region titles and have advanced to the NCAA Championship at the USA Baseball National Training Complex in Cary, N.C., each season. SNHU is coming off a 37-19 season (20-7 NE10) under first-year head coach Chris Shank.
Franklin Pierce was tabbed second in the Northeast with 49 points and one first-place vote, while Bentley (44 points), Assumption (33 points), Saint Anselm (24 points) and Saint Michael’s (15 points) rounded-out the poll.
