Coach’s comment: “This years Cardinal team looks to improve on a 12-9 record in 2024. The team has a good mix of returners and a solid group of very talented underclassmen. Offensively, we will look to put the ball in play more consistently and cut down on strikeouts. This will allow us to put pressure on opposing defenses with our speed and athleticism.
“We are also an improved defensive team, with six returning starters and an exciting group of newcomers. This will give our pitching staff, anchored by three returners (Holmes, Geiger and Kosko), the confidence to attack opposing hitters. Consistently getting ahead of hitters will be key, as it will give our pitchers the advantage of working in favorable counts and will help to keep our defense engaged.
“As always, Division I baseball will be a grind. Teams to watch include Exeter, Pinkerton, Londonderry and Bedford. Trinity is another team to keep an eye on this season.”
