
Nate Gallant’s two-run single was part of a five-run seventh inning that propelled the Exeter Post 32 Senior American Legion Baseball team to an 11-7 victory over Portsmouth at Leary Field on Friday night.
Portsmouth (3-4) tied the game, 6-6, on Devin Driscoll’s sacrifice fly in the bottom of the sixth before Exeter’s big inning. Gallant had three hits for Post 32 (5-1), which received home runs from Jackie Prompradit, Thad McConnell and Jack Dever.
Finn Mussulman pitched two innings of relief to earn the win. He allowed two runs on two hits, walked two and struck out two. Connor Fowler took the loss.
Jackson Hooper collected four of Portsmouth’s 14 hits. Alex Santora drove in three.
Exeter will play Salem Post 63 on Tuesday (5 :30 p.m.) at Phillips Exeter Academy.
