Exeter 12, Portsmouth 8

Thad McConnell and Collin McGovern each homered to lead the Exeter Post 32 Senior American Legion Baseball team to a 12-8 victory over Portsmouth Post 6 Monday night at Leary Field.
McConnell hit a three-run home run in the fourth inning and had five RBIs in the win. McGovern opened the scoring by hitting a two-run home run in the first inning.
Portsmouth (4-10) led 5-4 through three innings, but Exeter (10-3) took control by scoring six runs in its half of the fourth.
Andrew Martin earned the win for holding Portsmouth to a run on two hits in four innings on relief. He struck out four. Martin also scored three times.
Connor Fowler, Jackson Hooper, Alex Santora and Gabe Carlise each collected a a hit for Portsmouth.
Exeter will play at Rochester Post 7 (5-8) on Tuesday night.
