Nashua eliminated from regional

Stamford, Conn. scored five runs in the first inning and three more in the second en route to an 11-1 six-inning victory over Nashua on Thursday in the American Legion Baseball Northeast Regional at Fitton Field in Worcester, Mass.
Stamford collected 10 hits in the win, which ended Nashua’s season. The 10-run mercy rule kicked in when Stamford scored a run in the bottom of the sixth.
Max Mello and a hit and scored Nashua’s only run. Brett Anderson and Varun Lingadel collected Nashua’s other hits.
