Dover juniors fall short

Dover erased a three-run deficit in the seventh inning, but Stony Point, N.Y. scored a run in the eighth to post a 4-3 victory Sunday in the championship game of the Junior Legion Northeast Regional at Concord’s Memorial Field.
Dover trailed 3-0 with two outs and no one on base in the seventh, but forced extra innings when Alex Noel scored on Jake Smith’s RBI double; Smith scored on an error and Will MacGregor scored on an errant pickoff attempt. Dover left the bases loaded in the seventh.
Stony Point scored its three runs in the first inning, when Dover committed three errors.
