Ciccotelli named top freshman

Rochester’s Michael Ciccotelli, a freshman outfielder for New England College, was named the New England Collegiate Conference freshman of the week after he helped the Pilgrims to a 2-1 week, batting .375 with three RBI. Ciccotelli had a hit and an RBI as NEC knocked off Emerson, 7-5. Then, in a 21-3 offensive onslaught over John Jay, he went 2-for-3, with a double and two RBI.
Ciccotelli went 3-for-5 and drove in five runs during NEC’s 18-13 triumph over Manhattanville on Sunday.
