Mulcay sets HR record

Redshirt-junior Dakota Mulcay, a Goffstown resident, set Southern New Hampshire University’s career home run record Sunday with a game-tying solo home run in the ninth inning of Game 2 of a doubleheader against Franklin Pierce in the Northeast-10 Championship divisional final.

Mulcay’s home run was his eighth of the season and the 22nd of his career, moving him past Jon Minucci (2010-13) for first place on SNHU’s all-time list. It also puts Mulcay into the top 10 on the program’s single-season list for the second time (2018/8).

Joshua Goldstein drove in the game-winning run in the 10th, as 20th-ranked SNHU salvaged a split by winning the second contest 4-3. Franklin Pierce won Game 1 9-7.

The top-seeded Penmen and second-seeded Ravens will play a winner-take-all Game 3 in the NE-10 Championship divisional final Monday at noon at Penmen Field. The winner will advance to the NE-10 Championship final (May 21-22) against the winner of the Southwest Division. Top-seeded Adelphi University and second-seeded Le Moyne College will also play a Game 3 Monday after splitting Sunday’s doubleheader.
