MANCHESTER – The New Hampshire Fisher Cats (Blue Jays Double-A affiliate) ended the season with a third consecutive win over the Harrisburg Senators (Washington Nationals), 6-4 on Sunday afternoon at Delta Dental Stadium.
BOX SCORE
Harrisburg staked starting pitcher Gerardo Carrillo (L, 0-5) to an early 3-0 lead with a three-run homer from Ian Sagdal in the second inning, but New Hampshire scored six unanswered runs to take control.
Spencer Horwitz blasted a leadoff home run to right field in the bottom of the second to make it 3-1, and the Fisher Cats took the lead with a five-run rally in the fourth inning.
Horwitz started the frame with a double into the right field corner, and after an error put Rafael Lantigua on base, Ryan Gold launched a three-run shot over the fence in right-center to put New Hampshire in front, 4-3. Later in the inning, Steward Berroa doubled home Reggie Pruitt to add to the lead, and Kevin Vicuña hit a sacrifice fly to make it 6-3.
New Hampshire’s bullpen was terrific, led by 3.1 perfect innings from Johnny Barbato (W, 3-4). Curtis Taylor (1 IP, 1 K), Brandon Eisert (1 IP, 1 H, 2 K), and Sea Rackoski (1 IP, 1 R, 3 H, 1 BB, 1 K) all recorded holds, and combined to retire 15 consecutive Harrisburg batters at one point.
Graham Spraker (S, 2) struck out one batter as part of a perfect ninth inning.
The Fisher Cats start the 2022 season on the road with a three-game series in Portland on April 8, before starting the home schedule on April 12 at Delta Dental Stadium.
