Seacoast schools change coaches

When it comes to coaching, the Seacoast will look much different when the 2022 high school baseball season begins, as Exeter, Dover and St. Thomas are among the NHIAA schools that will have new coaches next year.

  • Kevin McQueen retired after 25 seasons as Exeter’s coach. McQueen guided Exeter to the Division I championship in 2013, 2017 and 2018. Prior to being hired at Exeter, McQueen was the head coach at Timberlane Regional.
  • Scott Dubben resigned as the head coach at St. Thomas Aquinas to become the head coach at Dover, where John Carver resigned after 22 seasons. Dubben had a 31-22 record in three seasons at St. Thomas. The Saints lost to John Stark in last year’s Division II championship game.
  • Carson Cross has been hired to replace Dubben at St. Thomas. Cross, a 2020 Exeter High School graduate, served as the pitching coach for the Carolina Mudcats (Brewers/Class A) last season. Cross pitched at UConn and was selected by the St. Louis Cardinals in the 2015 draft.
