NHIAA team previews: Monadnock

2022 NHIAA BASEBALL TEAM PREVIEW
Monadnock Huskies

2021 Record: 12-3
2021 Postseason: Division III State Champions
Head coach: Tom Cote
Players with varsity experience: 11

Top Returners:
Offense

  • Senior Kevin Putnam (SS) – (.477, 1 HR, 18 RBI)
  • Sophomore Ben Dean (C) (.250, 2 HR, 13 RBI)

Pitching:

  • Senior Kevin Putnam (RHP) – (5-1, 1.45 ERA)
  • Senior Colin Donnelley (RHP) – (4-1, 3.06 ERA)
  • Junior – Cam Olivo (RHP)-  (2-2, 2.04 ERA)

Coaches comment: Kevin Putnam, Collin Donnelley and Cam Olivo return to anchor what looks to be a deep pitching staff. The Huskies will rely on a nice blend of experience for what has the makings of a solid defensive club. Kevin Putnam and Ben Dean are returning offensive leaders. Monadnock is scheduled to open the season April 13th hosting Kearsarge.

Division III figures to be wide open this year. Last year’s regional schedule made it hard to figure out who is who. Conant, White Mountains, and Hopkinton are among several teams expected to be in the mix.
