Haas off to strong start

EASTON, Mass. — Stonehill College freshman pitcher Peter Haas has been named the Northeast-10 Conference Rookie of the Week and Pitcher of the Week the league office announced Tuesday.

In his two starts last week, Haas, a Keene High School graduate, went 1-1 and tossed 14 innings, allowed five earned runs (eight runs total), struck out 13 (8.36 K/9), and posted a 3.21 earned run average.

His best start came against Assumption University when he threw eight innings, allowed five hits, zero earned runs (one unearned), and struck out seven Greyhounds. Haas’ dominant performance against Assumption earned him his first collegiate win in just his second-ever start. During his first start in a game against Molloy College, Haas went six innings, gave up eight hits, five earned runs, and struck out six.

Haas ranks within the top 20 in many NE10 pitching categories, including: strikeouts (17th), ERA (17th), and innings pitched (14th).
