MANCHESTER — Saint Anselm College has announced its 2023 schedule.
The Hawks have 50 games slated for the 2023 season which is set to start on Feb. 3 with the first of a three-game series at the University of North Carolina-Pembroke. Saint Anselm will play a four-game series against American International, Assumption, Bentley, Franklin Pierce, Saint Michael’s, and Southern New Hampshire to make up their NE10 Northeast Division slate, totaling 24 games.
In the rest of February, Saint Anselm will be on the road and head to Shipyard Park in Charleston, S.C. for a four-game set against Post University and will battle East Stroudsburg University from East Stroudsburg, Pa. Before returning to the region for the remainder of the season, the Hawks play four opponents in three days from the USA Baseball Training Complex in Cary, N.C. on Friday, March 3 through Sunday, March 5.
Saint Anselm has three non-conference meetings, against NE10 foes Assumption, Saint Rose, and Le Moyne, throughout the month of March before opening conference play on Friday, Mar. 31 at crosstown rival Southern New Hampshire.
Saint Anselm is scheduled to make its Sullivan Park debut on Saturday, April 8 in a doubleheader against Saint Michael’s and will welcome Franklin Pierce and Bentley to the Hilltop later in the month of April. The Hawks close the 2023 regular season schedule at Assumption with four games scheduled for Thursday, May 4 through Saturday, May 6.
Saint Anselm posted a 22-23 overall record last spring with a 13-11 mark in Northeast-10 Conference Northeast Division play. The team’s 22 wins were the most since 2012 and are sixth most in a single season. The Hawks set a program record for home runs with 57, breaking a record that stood since 2001. Saint Anselm, on its way back to the NE10 postseason as the Northeast Division’s fourth-seed, ranked inside the top-five in team annals in slugging percentage (.456), runs scored (306), doubles (86), runs batted in (274), and strikeouts (303).
