Michigan team nearing Portsmouth’s record

Portsmouth High School owns the national record for consecutive victories. The Clippers won 89 consecutive games from 2008 to 2012, but that streak is in jeopardy.

St. Mary’s Prep (Orchard Lake, Mich.) enters the 2023 season having won 66 games in a row. St. Mary’s is closing in on the state record for consecutive wins, held by Homer, which won 75 consecutive games from 2004 to 2005. At the time that was the national record.

Monadnock, last year’s Division III champion, has won its last 25 games, which is the 14th longest active streak in the nation.
