Senior Jeffrey Praml (W. Bridgewater, N.J.) tossed five scoreless innings and freshman Jake Pisano (Hamden, Conn.) drove in three runs in game one, while junior George Welch (Derry, N.H.) fired seven scoreless frames and junior Cam Caraher (Plymouth, Mass.) knocked in two of his three runs on the day in game two, as the No. 6/8 Southern New Hampshire University baseball team finished off the three game sweep of Post University on Saturday at Municipal Stadium. The Penmen won game one, 9-1, before blanking the Eagles, 9-0, in the second game.

KEY MOMENTS – GAME 1
- The game was scoreless until the top of the fourth inning when Southern New Hampshire put up three runs. Caraher opened the inning with a single to center, stole second and scored on Pisano’s base hit to right. Junior Danniel Rivera (New Britain, Conn.) made it 2-0 with a sacrifice fly to right that scored Pisano, while sophomore Gabe Passey (Moses Lake, Wash.) scored on a passed ball to extend the lead to 3-0.
- SNHU broke it open with a four-run fifth. Caraher started the scoring with an RBI single and sophomore John Chacho (Seymour, Conn.) knocked in a run with an RBI double to left, while Pisano’s two-run single to left made it 7-0.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE – GAME 1
- Pisano (run, three RBI, walk) and Schwartz (run) both went 3-for-4.
- Chacho was 1-for-3 with a run, RBI and a walk.
- Passey finished 1-for-4 with a run and an RBI.
- Sophomore Jorge Burgos (Santo Domingo, D.R.) was 0-for-3 with a pair of walks and two runs scored.
- LaRocca and junior Cristian Mercedes (Providence, R.I.) were both 1-for-5 with a walk.
- Freshman Austin Trumpour (Jensen Beach, Fla.) allowed one run on two hits over two innings, striking out three and not walking a batter.
- Junior Brandon White (Simsbury, Conn.) worked a pair of shutout frames, giving up one hit and striking out one.
KEY MOMENTS – GAME 2
- Southern New Hampshire jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the top of the first. Burgos reached on what would be a two-run error and then Caraher came through with an RBI knock to right.
- Caraher collected another RBI with a groundout to second in the third, with freshman Kyle Lavigne (Bedford, N.H.) making it 5-0 with an RBI single to center.
- The score stayed that way until the Penmen recorded a three-run seventh that was highlighted by an RBI single to left from senior Kieran Dowd (E. Islip, N.Y.).
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE – GAME 2
- LaRocca (two runs, walk) and Lavigne (RBI) were both 2-for-3.
- Dowd finished 1-for-2 with an RBI.
- Caraher was 1-for-3 with a pair of RBI.
- Mercedes finished 1-for-4 with a run and a walk.
- Chacho (strikeout) and junior Griffin Gilbert (Concord, N.H.; three strikeouts) both tossed perfect frames.
NOTES
- Southern New Hampshire, ranked sixth in the Collegiate Baseball Pre-Season NCAA Division II Poll and eighth in the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) NCAA Division II Top 25, is 3-0 to begin the season for the second time in three years.
- SNHU improves to 11-1 all-time against Post.
- The Penmen outscored the Eagles, 26-3, during the three-game set.
