Nashua ousted in final

Hunter Curtis tossed a complete game to lead Ellsworth, Maine, to a 6-1 victory over Nashua’s Coffey Post on Sunday in the American Legion Baseball Northeast Regional championship game.

Curtis, who was named the North Atlantic Conference Rookie of the Year earlier this year following his freshman season at Husson University, limited Nashua to three hits. He struck out two and walked two.

Hollis-Brookline’s Zak Lussier had a triple and drove in Coffey Post’s only run.

Trenton is Maine’s first regional champion since Portland-based Nova Seafood won the American Legion Baseball World Series in 2004.

Nashua beat Greece, N.Y., 3-2 earlier Sunday to reach the championship game.

Nashua lead 2-0 until Greece tied the game by scoring twice in the top of the seventh. Luke Anderson’s RBI single with two outs in the bottom of the seventh handed Nashua the win.
