Legion: Nashua 5, R.I. 4

Nashua advanced to the final day of the American Legion Baseball Northeast Regional by beating Cumberland, R.I., 5-4 Saturday.

Nashua trailed 2-0 after one inning, 3-2 through five and 4-2 entering the bottom of the sixth, when it took the lead by scoring three runs.

Dom Monico picked up the win for tossing 1.1 innings of scoreless relief. Zak Lussier allowed four runs on 10 hits in 5.2 innings. He struck out four and didn’t walk a batter.

Derek Finlay led the Nashua offense with two hits and two RBIs. Travis LaFontaine, Luke Anderson, Ryan Haskell, Jake O’Connor and Isaiah Hedquist collected Nashua’s other hits. Haskell, Hedquist and Jordan Delude each had one RBI

Nashua will play Greece, N.Y., at 12:30 p.m. The winner will face Ellsworth, Maine, for the reginal championship and a berth in the American Legion World Series.
