Bedford’s Grant Lavigne will open the 2024 season with the Albuquerque Isotopes, the Colorado Rockies’ Triple-A affiliate in the Pacific Coast League.
Lavigne, a 2018 first-round draft pick by the Rockies, is expected to get the bulk of the playing time at first base. He’s one of two players on the Albuquerque roster who will be making their Triple-A debut.
The Isotopes are scheduled to open their season tonight (March 30) against El Paso.
Lavigne hit .227 with 17 home runs and 51 RBIs in 445 at-bats with the Double-A Hartford Yard Goats of the Eastern League last season.
He was selected as New Hampshire’s Gatorade Player of the Year during his sophomore and senior seasons at Bedford High School.
