
The Altanta Braves selected Londonderry High School’s Owen Carey in the 15th round (pick No. 461 overall) in this year’s MLB Draft. Carey, who also played hockey for Londonderry, led the Lancers to the Division I championship during his junior season. He played both first base and outfielder for Londonderry last spring.

Through 16 games with the Nashua Silver Knights of the Futures Collegiate Baseball League, Carey had a slash line of.305/.379./463 with three homers and five stolen bases. Carey was the first New England High School player selected in this year’s draft.
