Marshall named top rookie

MANSFIELD, Mass. – Southern New Hampshire University freshman Jackson Marshall (Hooksett, N.H.) was recognized as the Northeast-10 Rookie of the Week on Monday, for the period ending Feb. 23.
Marshall had a stellar start to his collegiate career, batting .353 (6-17) with four extra base hits, including a home run, four RBIs and two runs scored, while slashing .476/.706/1.182, during a 4-1 week for SNHU. He went 2-for-4 with a pair of doubles, an RBI and a run scored on opening day in a 16-0 victory over Queens (N.Y.) College on Thursday. He also capped the Myrtle Beach trip in an 8-1 win Sunday versus St. Thomas Aquinas College by going 1-for-4 with a home run, an RBI and a run scored.
Marshall and the Penmen are back in action Saturday at 1 p.m. when they take on Adelphi University at Trinity College.
