Coach’s comment: “We lost two great pitchers who led us for the last two seasons, which gives opportunities to other pitchers who have been waiting their turn. We have high hopes for Noah Shaw who should anchor the rotation. Noah has all the tools to be a top Division II pitcher this season. We
should have more depth in the pitching staff as well with seniors Luke Diamond and Thomas Daigneault; juniors Turner Oldenburg, Kadyn Smith and Mason Hershey; and sophomore sophomore Cavan Sanborn.
Defensively we should be solid as we return three-year starter Jake Sanborn at first base who has been an anchor for us. Diamond returns shortstop as a three- year starter as well. Kyle Dodge returns at second base and Shaw returns at catcher and third base. In the outfield Diagneault, who is one of the premier defensive outfielders I have seen, returns for his third season
as a starter. Jaxon Rineer returns as a starter in the outfield as well.
What our lineup is going to look like by mid-season is the question mark. We have some newcomers as well as kids who got some time last year, who have looked tremendous and have forced their way onto the field. How we incorporate these players into the line-up and how it affects the positions we
ask players to play will take some time. Oldenburg, Cavan Sanborn, Cam Magoon and Mason Hershey have looked great in the preseason.
Offensively we need to improve from last season where our formula was great pitching, great defense and score enough to win. I expect our offensive output to improve drastically, with our new additions coupled with a veteran lineup that returns our top hitters from 2024. I expect Bow, Souhegan, John Stark, and STA — who all return three or four All-State performers from 2024 —
to again be at the top in 2025. Kingswood is another team returning three All-State performers who should battle for a top spot.”
