
NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Londonderry High School graduate Connor Fennell is this week’s SEC Pitcher of the Week, the conference announced Monday.
Fennell threw a complete-game shutout with a career-high 12 strikeouts to guide Vanderbilt to a seven-inning, run-rule win at Ole Miss on Sunday. The righty held the Rebels to three hits and walked one batter.
The victory improved Fennell’s record to 5-0 this season. He has registered double-digit strikeouts in consecutive starts against Georgia and Ole Miss.
On the season, the sophomore has made eight appearances in SEC games including five starts. He has a 2.83 ERA with 50 strikeouts to five walks and is holding opposing hitters to a .181 average.
He’s the second Commodore this season to earn a weekly award from the SEC, joining Brodie Johnston who was named Co-Freshman of the Week on March 10.
