Cormier, Langis earn NECC awards

HENNIKER — New England College senior Shaun Cormer (Rochester/Spaulding HS) was named the New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) Pitcher of the Week on Monday, and teammate Garrett Langis (Rochester/Spaulding HS) was selected as the NECC Rookie of the Week.
Cormier started one game for the Pilgrims. He struck out eight and allowed three earned runs as the Pilgrims lost a tight contest to Saint Joseph’s of Maine, 6-5.
Langis picked up his third NECC Rookie of the Week honor, as he hit .333 with a home run, two doubles and four RBIs in two games.
