NEC handles Keene State

HENNIKER — Powered by home runs from Garrett Langis (Rochester/Spaulding HS) and Tyler Gendron (Milford/Milford HS), and five solid innings on the mound from Shawn Sears (Hampton/Winnacunnet HS), the New England College (2-10)  baseball team earned an 11-4 victory over Keene State College (1-4) in non-conference action Tuesday.

The Pilgrims’ offense started fast in the first inning, as Langis hit a two-run home run. Gendron followed up Langis with a two-run shot of his own. With two outs in the bottom of the first BJ Minarcin laced a two-out single up the middle, expanding the NEC lead to 5-0.

Sears got his first start in a Pilgrims uniform. He pitched five innings, allowed three hits, one earned run and struck out nine.
