The Top 10 NHIAA baseball teams after Week 1 of the regular season:
1. Winnacunnet (3-0)
The Warriors won three games last week and allowed a total of two runs. They’re the team to beat until proven otherwise.
2. Londonderry (1-0)
The Lancers, the 2019 Division I champions, opened their season with a 7-2 triumph over Bishop Guertin.
3. Concord (2-0)
The Crimson Tide outscored Bedford 9-1 in its two victories over the Bulldogs. Interesting matchup with Goffstown on deck Monday.
4. Winhdam (2-0)
The Jaguars may have been flying under the radar, but that’s no longer the case after they posted wins against Nashua North and Portsmouth.
5. Goffstown (2-0)
The Grizzlies appear to have another solid roster. Goffstown allowed one run in its two wins against Manchester Memorial.
6. Salem (2-0)
The Blue Devils ended the program’s 19-game losing streak when it opened the 2021 season by beating Spaulding.
7. Keene (2-0)
The Blackbirds appear to have pitching depth. Their schedule is managable, but its tougher in May. Keene plays Goffstown, Bedford and Concord twice in the regular season’s final three weeks.
8. Bedford (1-2)
After dropping two games to Concord, the Bulldogs bounced back by beating a strong Exeter team.
9. Hollis/Brookline (1-0)
The Cavaliers are the only non-Division I team in this week’s Top 10.
10. (tie) Portsmouth (0-1)
The Clippers opened the season with a loss to Windham, but there’s plenty of talent on the roster. Portsmouth has three players who have committed to Division I schools.
10. (tie) Exeter (0-1)
The Blue Hawks had two game against Dover postponed and then dropped a 5-3 decision to Bedford. Like Portsmouth, there’s plenty of talent on their roster.
