Shortstop Gavin Gillpatrick hit a home run with one out in the top of the sixth inning to help Middleboro, Mass., defeat Concord 1-0 in the opening round of the Little League New England Regional on Saturday.
The home run came after Concord starting pitcher Henry Thresher reached his pitch limit (85) and was removed from the mound. He allowed two hits and finished with 13 strikeouts.

The game two starters combined for 22 strikeouts and five total hits in a game that came down to the final inning.
Massachusetts starting pitcher Jayden Murphy recorded nine strikeouts in before reaching his pitch limit in the sixth.
New Hampshire will face Vermont on Sunday at 4 p.m. Vermont lost to Maine 3-0 in the opening game of the regional.
