Little League: NH 2, VT 0

The Concord All-Stars received 5.1 innings of shutout baseball from pitcher Will Simms and extended their stay in the New England Regional by beating Brattleboro, Vt., 2-0 Sunday in Bristol, Conn.

Concord (1-1) will face the loser of Monday’s Middleboro, Mass.-Bangor, Maine, game on Wednesday at 1 p.m. Vermont finished the tournament with an 0-2 record.

Simms tossed 85 pitches (the maximum allowed for one game) and held Vermont to three hits, all singles. He struck out five and walked four. Nolan Walsh earned the save by recording the final two outs.

Concord took the lead when a Finn Gfroerer single scored Andrew Mercier in the fourth, then doubled its lead on a Tyler Peterson sacrifice fly that drove in Walsh.
