Fisher Cats 3, Patriots 1

BRIDGEWATER, N.J — The New Hampshire Fisher Cats, the Double-A affiliate of the Toronto Blue Jays, defeated the Somerset Patriots 3-1 in five innings on Saturday night at TD Bank Ballpark.

The game was called after five innings due to inclement weather.

In his very first at-bat with the Fisher Cats since being received from Triple-A Buffalo, Jamie Ritchie knocked in two runs with a single into right field off Somerset starter Grey Fenter (1-1), driving in Leo Jimenez and Damiano Palmegiani to give New Hampshire (8-6) an early 2-0 lead.

PK Morris collected his first hit of the series with an RBI single up the middle past the drawn-in Somerset (7-7) infield to increase the lead 3-1 in the fourth.

Starting pitcher Adam Kloffenstein (1-1) pitched his best game of the season, going five innings, allowing only one run, one hit and one walk, while striking out eight, earning the win. The eight strikeouts is a new season-high for Kloffenstein. His Double-A career-high is 10 strikeouts set back on July 23, 2022 against  Portland.

New Hampshire has now won three of their last four in Somerset and is 6-2 on the road.

The Fisher Cats finish their road trip Sunday against Somerset at 1:05 pm.

RHP Sem Robberse (0-0, 3.95 ERA) will get the start for New Hampshire against RHP Blas Castano (0-0, 0.00 ERA) for the Patriots.
