BIG GREEN HEAD WEST
Dartmouth will play seven games in seven days when it faces four teams on its spring trip to California. Despite remaining winless on the season, the Big Green will look to build on a strong offensive performance and continue to prepare for the start of Ivy League play when it returns from the West Coast.

LAST TIME OUT
The Big Green last played 11 days ago when it wrapped up a series with the North Florida Ospreys. Weather played a role in the series, as both Game 1 and Game 2 had adjusted start times and game three was canceled all together.

The Ospreys took Game 1 and despite Dartmouth getting out to a 5-0 lead in the first inning and matching its year-to-date run total, the Ospreys plated 14 runs to defeat the Big Green 14-8 and win the series.

BIG GREEN FIND OFFENSIVE POWER
In the second game of the series against North Florida, the Big Green plated eight runs, matching its total on the year up to that point.

Kolton Freeman knocked a two-run home run, his first of the season, to highlight the Big Green’s five-run first inning. Tyler Robinson continued his hot bat, going 3-5 on the weekend to keep his batting average above .500 and lead the Big Green.

First-year Ethan Brown has also found early success at the plate, posting a .389 batting average and leading the team with three doubles and three RBIs.

BUILDING ON THE OFFENSE AND PITCHING
Following its trip to the West Coast, the Big Green will get underway against Ivy League opponents. With two thirds of its wins last year coming against Ivy League foes, it is important Dartmouth uses this trip to continue to warm up the bats and the arms.

SCOUTING LONG BEACH STATE
The Dirtbags will enter their Game 1 with the Big Green following a series loss to Wichita State. The Dirtbags won the second game of the series 8-4 before dropping the third game to move to 10-3-1 on the year.

Long Beach State is led offensively by Connor Charpiot, who has started all 14 games for the Dirtbags. The junior leads the team with 15 hits and is tied for the most doubles, knocking three so far this season. Adrian Lopez, currently sitting third on the team in batting average (.267) leads the team with 14 RBIs and three home runs.

The Dirtbags are prepared to send RHP Josh Donegan to start on the mound. Donegan sits at 2-0 on the season, making one start and coming out of the bullpen three times. He is coming off a relief appearance win against UCLA on March 5, when he came in to pitch 5.1 scoreless innings after the starter only went 1.2 innings.

The Big Green will send first-year Marco Dumsky to the mound for his first start of the season. In two relief appearances, Dumsky has pitched 2.2 innings and scattered four runs on three hits.

SCOUTING LOYOLA MARYMOUNT
Loyola Marymount started the week on a four-game losing streak, but beat Arizona on Monday night to get in the win column before the Big Green visit for four games. They currently sit at 8-8 on the season.

Christian Dicochea leads LMU with a .357 batting average, with the next closest Lion posting a .288. While he has the most hits on the team, he ranks fifth on the team in RBIs. Brendan Bobo, who is batting .262 on the year, has brought home 18 runs this season, including five home runs. Sam Biller has eight home runs to date.

LMU has three pitchers that have combined to start all but four games this season. Owen Hackman leads the team with a 3-1 record, posting a 3.32 ERA in 21.2 innings. Hackman has allowed only eight runs on 12 hits with 24 strikeouts and eight walks.

SCOUTING POMONA-PITZER
Pomona-Pitzer will play one more series before welcoming the Big Green for a single game next Monday. Prior to their three-game series with Tufts, the Sagehens sit at 14-4 and are riding a four-game winning streak.

The Sagehens have three players batting above .300, including JC Ng who leads the team with a .397 batting average. Not only has he scored the most runs (23), but he’s also tallied the most hits (27), leads the team with five homeruns, and is tied for second with 18 RBIs. Greg Pierantoni, who has posted a .366 batting average to this point, leads the team with 21 RBIs.

Ethan Collins, Jake Hilton, and Hannoh Seo have combined to start 15 of the Sagehens 18 games. Seo leads the three, and the team, with a 2,17 ERA, allowing only seven runs on 23 hits through 29 innings of work. Hilton, who’s posted a 2.48 ERA in 29 innings, has given up nine runs on 26 hits while also leading the team with 37 strikeouts.

SCOUTING CALIFORNIA BAPTIST
The Lancers, currently sitting at 11-5, will play four games before hosting the Big Green in their final game on the West Coast.

California Baptist’s offense has relied heavily on Michael Carpentier. Carpentier leads the Lancers in batting average (.379), hits (25), doubles (8), and RBIs (18) and is tied for runs scored (11). Mitchel Simon, currently third on the team with a .309 batting average, sits right behind Carpentier with 15 RBIs but leads the team with four home runs.

Lukas Pirko has started the most games for the Lancers, having pitched 22.2 innings in four starts en route to a 2-0 record. He also posts a 2.38 ERA with 19 strikeouts to lead the team.

The Big Green and Lancers have never faced each other. Dartmouth will look to take the lead in the series and end the West Coast road trip on a high note.
