Braves send Carey to Double-A

Londonderry High School graduate Owen Carey is one of four Atlanta Braves/ prospects who has been promoted from High-A Rome to Double-A Columbus.
Carey, an outfielder, was a 15th-round selection in the 2024 MLB Draft. Many in the scouting industry have labeled him a late-round steal for the Braves. Carey hit .272 with eight home runs and an .827 OPS for Rome, and will now test his talents against better competition just a couple of weeks after turning 20.
Carey played primarily first base at Londonderry High School.
